The Best Air Fryer Jalapeño Poppers

December 5, 2020

Jump to Recipe Print Recipe

I recently got a Gourmia air fryer from Costco on sale for $39.99 (originally $56.99) and I want to cook all the things. It’s awesome and has even earned a permanent spot on my countertop – and I can’t stand appliances taking up space on the countertop.

It’s so versatile and can cook/reheat just about anything. Bacon, for example, cooks perfectly in 6 minutes. 6 MINUTES. No more popping grease in a frying pan or waiting 15-20 minutes for it to cook in the oven. Which brings me to the first step:

1. Cook your bacon

Put 3-4 slices of bacon in your air fryer and cook at 400 degrees for 18 minutes (we want it to get really crispy).

2. Slice and core your peppers

While you’re waiting for the bacon, slice your jalapeño peppers lengthwise and remove the core and seeds with a spoon. I would recommend using gloves for this step and avoid touching your eyes…and face in general.

3. Make your cream cheese mixture

Mix your 3oz cream cheese, 1/4 cup shredded cheddar cheese, 1/4 cup green onions, and garlic together in a small bowl (you can heat the cream cheese up if you need to).

4. Add your bacon

Once the bacon is done cooking, cut it into small bits and add to the cream cheese mixture.

5. Fill the jalapeños with cream cheese mix

Fill the jalapeño halves with the cream cheese mixture, then gently press shredded cheddar cheese into the top of the filled peppers.

5. Cook your poppers

Place the poppers in your air fryer and cook @ 400 degrees for 6-7 minutes until the peppers are soft and slightly browned.

7. Enjoy!

The Best Air Fryer Jalepeno Poppers

Guys, these air fryer jalapeños are seriously SO. GOOD. They are quick and easy to whip up for a last minute appetizer and turn out perfectly delicious in the air fryer. Don't have an air fryer? They can be made in the oven too, but you're missing out! It's my new favorite appliance and has even earned a permanent spot on the countertop – and I really don't like appliances on the counter.
Prep Time18 mins
Cook Time7 mins
Total Time25 mins
Course: Appetizer
Cuisine: Mexican
Keyword: Bacon Cream Cheese Jalepeno Popper, Jalepeno Popper
Servings: 6 Poppers

Ingredients

  • 6 Large Jalepenos (sliced lengthwise & seeded – use gloves and for god's sake don't rub your eyes)
  • 3-4 Strips of Bacon (we like a lot of bacon so if you prefer less, then only use 1-2 slices)
  • 3 oz Cream Cheese (softened)
  • 1/4 cup Shredded Cheddar Cheese
  • 1/4 cup Green Onions (chopped)
  • 1 tsp Minced Garlic (roughly 2 cloves)

Instructions

  • Crisp your bacon in your air fryer @ 374 degrees for 18 minutes (it should be crispy, crumbly goodness when you pull it out so adjust the time if needed)
  • Slice your jalapeños lengthwise removing the core and seeds
  • Mix your 3oz cream cheese, 1/4 cup shredded cheddar cheese, 1/4 cup green onions, and garlic together in a small bowl (you can heat the cream cheese up if you need to)
  • Once the bacon is done cooking, cut it into small bits and add to the cream cheese mixture
  • Fill the jalapeño halves with the cream cheese mixture, then gently press shredded cheddar cheese into the top of the filled peppers
  • Place the poppers in your air fryer and cook @ 400 degrees for 6-7 minutes until the peppers are soft and slightly browned
  • Enjoy!

This herringbone tile project was one of the first DIY tutorials that I ever posted, then I decided to switch hosting providers and lost everything 🤬 All of the time spent building my site, my articles, images...everything 🤦‍♀️

I haven't been in a hurry to start over, because really it's mostly for me and it’s a lot of work - but it did give me the opportunity to redesign everything and I’m pretty happy with it 🤩
